General Manager for ACTIVE KIDZ SHANGHAI
Active Kidz Shanghai (AKS), now in its tenth year, is the premier non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to providing quality sports and recreational programs to the expatriate community of Shanghai.
AKS is seeking a general manager to lead the organization into the next decade of development. The position gives the right candidate the opportunity to lead a small organization allowing for personal development and growth while contributing to the community.
This position, based in Shanghai, would oversee sports programs now delivered in Pudong, Puxi, and Minhang areas. Managing a full-time team of 6 staff located in 2 offices and coordinating the efforts of almost 200 volunteers in 3 locations, the GM would have
- operational responsibility for delivering the sports programs
- networking in the community for sponsorship and marketing
- overseeing the financial and cash management procedures
The ideal candidate will
- mix easily in a multi-national, multi-language environment
- leadership skills to build vision, set expectations, and lead by example
- have previous supervisory experience in administration or similar background
- be interested in children
- have lived in Shanghai long enough to be knowledgeable about the international community, Shanghai geography, and expatriate community
- sports background a plus but not crucial
- Fluent English, Chinese language skills would be helpful, other languages a plus
