We’re going to have a happy hour on Thursday, June 23 starting around 6:00 PM. Please make sure you also mark on your calendars these major upcoming events for Georgetown:

For the happy hour, we’re heading (again) to longtime Shanghai favorite, Boxing Cat Brewery. Come join us on the third (top) floor of the Boxing Cat for drink specials and free billiards. Alumni Talk: Reverse Mergers? (Thu 30 June)

Are reverse mergers a cheap alternative to IPO or a risky strategy for Chinese companies?
Come hear a discussion on the benefits and dangers of reverse mergers by a Georgetown Law alumni, Paul Schittek. Paul is an adjunct professor of law at East China Normal University of Politics and Law, and a partner at TIGERPACS law firm. He is a practicing New York attorney who specializes in structuring international business transactions and investments.

Paul will be talking about:
* What is a reverse merger?
* What are the legal issues in reverse mergers?
* Why are law firms and bankers encouraging companies to use this “backdoor method”?
* What is the reputation of reverse mergers in the USA?
