History of the Georgetown China Club
Georgetown University alumni have had a long history within China. In the 1990s, Georgetown alumni in Shanghai began meeting informally in local bars and restaurants to share their experiences working and living in Shanghai.
In the early 2000s, the Georgetown China club was meeting regularly at the Big Bamboo. The previous club presidents, David Whittingham and David Savio, laid the foundation for the Georgetown Club today.
As the number of alumni grew, the Georgetown China Club was given a formal structure in 2009. This led to the first formally elected Executive Committee for the Club.
